    I teared up a little.

    People genuinely do not understand what we’re doing to ourselves, I really think he might be one of a few dozen people in the entire country (maybe the entire world) who understands the depths we’re pushing ourselves down to.  Even I don’t think I understand it in its fullness. We are doing nothing short of robbing ourselves, generations on down the line, our entire species, of a future.

    If we find out that we’re it, we’re the sentient life in the galaxy, it’s us with Earth and maybe some pond scum every few dozen or hundred light years, and that’s not completely unlikely, we are choosing to end sentience’s one great experiment in existence.  We are dooming our species to mediocrity on every conceivable level in ways that defy conception.
